Case Study: Levelling-Up Instagram Stories and Vertical Video

NEED

The infamous TATE galleries including TATE Modern, TATE Britain, TATE Liverpool and TATE St.Ives needed to engage with a younger audience so they can draw in more visitor numbers and inspire a new generation of creatives. They looked to Instagram Stories and vertical video formats as this is the regularly most consumed media amongst this target audience. They had been making Stories but wanted to “level-up” to match their social vertical videos with the rich creative reputation of the brand.

SOLUTION

We created two workshops for the TATE Collective. The first, for their wider social media and content team members from across the country. This workshop gave the team a range of new video capturing skills and techniques so they can get better quality footage quickly with their phones. We also introduced a range of new creative apps and a taught them a storytelling framework to help plan their stories.

The second workshop was for the management and strategy team. We got them up to date with the newest trends in vertical and social video. We then facilitated an ideas session to help them get to the centre of what they want to communicate through stories and how to create a strategy to do so.

IMPACT

Their team left inspired to get more creative with stories and have since increased the quality and regularity of their stories dramatically. Their creative process is now easier as they are guided by a clear purpose and strategy behind their stories.
